The Eden Leisure Group stands as a pioneering force in Malta’s Hospitality and Entertainment landscape, marking a rich legacy spanning 55 years since the inception of tourism. Commencing with the establishment of the Eden Rock hotel in 1967, ELG transitioned its operations to St Georges’ Bay in 1980, embarking on a journey that seamlessly integrated hospitality and entertainment.

Expanding its horizons, ELG ventured into the entertainment sector, introducing the first state-of-the-art discotheque, and subsequently, an array of entertainment spaces, a bowling center, the renowned 89.7 Bay radio station, and Malta’s inaugural multiplex cinema. At its zenith, Eden Cinemas boasted an impressive 21 screens, a testament to ELG’s commitment to elevating the entertainment experience.

In the early 2000s, ELG made significant investments, unveiling Malta’s largest 5-star hotel with 451 rooms and 46 apartments, the Cynergi health and fitness club, an IMAX theatre, and a spacious car park. enriched its portfolio by acquiring the St. Georges’ Bay beach, Definitely needs to be altered to ‘acquire a concession on St George’s Bay beach’

In 2003, ELG entrusted the management of its flagship property to the prestigious InterContinental Hotels Group, a partnership forged over two years to ensure the delivery of a world-class experience. Subsequent expansions included the opening of the Holiday Inn Express in 2017, offering consistent, high-quality, and stylish accommodation 5 star experience. The InterContinental Hotel saw a transformative phase with the addition of two new floors housing luxurious suites. The unveiling of Skybeach in 2019, a high-end restaurant and lounge featuring an infinity pool, further elevated the guest experience.

Diversifying its offerings, ELG launched Eden Esports in 2019, establishing Malta’s largest video gaming and esports community. This venture hosts a spectrum of events, from casual meetups to tier-1 pro competitions and LANs.

In 2022, the group introduced Lubelli, a gourmet pizzeria at the water’s edge, while expanding the Eden Cinemas to become a multiplex of nine movie theatres. The year 2023 marked the inauguration of Bay Easy FM and DAB, the group’s second commercial radio station.

This year, ELG unveiled its state-of-the-art Family Entertainment Centre, The Eden.  This innovative space not only houses a new 20-lane bowling center but also offers a diverse range of entertainment activities, over 3 floors, reinforcing the group’s commitment to providing unparalleled experiences for its patrons.

Looking ahead, ELG’s vision extends to the opening of a 4-star VOCO hotel a new IHG upscale 4 star brand at the end of 2024.
