As part of its efforts to promote sustainability, the Eden Leisure Group organised a Pop-Up Thrift Shop at the InterContinental Malta hotel earlier this month, where over €4,000 was raised for charity. The sum was split between two major NGOs, Inspire Malta and MSPCA.
As a part of the initiative to save clothing from landfills and to help the community, the Eden Leisure Group collected over half a tonne of used clothing from their employees and their friends and families. MSPCA and Inspire Malta also brought over their own donations and the Pop-Up Thrift Shop was restocked with new items throughout the day.
Following the success of their first pop-up thrift shop last September, this event was Christmas-themed allowing shoppers to opt for more sustainable gifts this year. It included a wide selection of winter clothes and party clothes including several top brands and vintage pieces.
With items starting from just €2, customers queued up at the Cettina De Cesare Hall at InterContinental Malta before doors opened at 10AM, ready to cop their favourite vintage pieces! A raffle also took place where shoppers could enter the chance to win a voucher to spend at MSPCA and Inspire Malta’s charity shops around the island.
