The Eden Leisure Foundation (ELF) has once again extended its commitment to social impact through two meaningful donations aimed at supporting vulnerable communities in Malta valued at €8,650.
Recently, Carina Scerri, Secretary of the Eden Leisure Foundation, visited Mamma Margherita Home, one of the residences run by the Salesians of Don Bosco, to oversee the delivery of essential household items as part of the home’s refurbishment project. The donation included brand new fridges/freezers, microwaves, washing machines, mattresses, duvet sets, cookware, plates, and other kitchen essentials for the six apartments housed within the residence.
“We are proud to contribute to the refurbishment of Mamma Margherita Home, which plays a vital role in offering vulnerable young men the stability and life skills they need to transition toward independent living. By donating these essential items, we hope to help create a safe and supportive environment that empowers these young individuals to build brighter, self-sufficient futures,” said Carina Scerri, Secretary, Eden Leisure Foundation.
The home has long served as a stepping-stone for young men experiencing homelessness, offering a person-centred and trauma-informed programme designed to prepare residents for independent living. With these upgrades, the residence is expected to continue providing essential support for the next decade.
To further extend its impact, the Eden Leisure Foundation is also exploring opportunities for residents in the care of the Salesians of Don Bosco to gain employment within the Eden Leisure Group. By offering access to job opportunities and training, the Foundation aims to provide a holistic support system that not only meets immediate needs but also empowers individuals with the tools and opportunities necessary for long-term independence.
In a separate initiative, the Foundation recently donated a commercial freezer to Soup Kitchen OFM – Valletta, reinforcing their mission to serve warm, nourishing meals daily to those in need, all year round.
About supporting the Soup Kitchen, Kate de Cesare, Chairperson of the Foundation, said, “As a Foundation, we believe in supporting those who dedicate their lives to helping others. This contribution reflects our unwavering dedication to dignity, inclusivity, and long-term impact – a small step that supports lasting change.”
The Eden Leisure Foundation continues to invest in impactful community projects across Malta, ensuring that vulnerable individuals and families have access to the tools and environments they need to live with dignity, independence, and hope.
